Has it been 5 months?

I'm not sure where to start since it's been almost 5 months since I've updated our site. For those of you faithful followers, I sincerely apologize. My excuses include--a busy, but great month long visit with my parents, poor internet connections at home, a broken camera (who wants to just read a blog, everyone wants to see pictures), and laziness. But, thankfully our internet is working today, and I have a few pictures in the archives I can share.

Here's a picture of Sam's teacher, Mrs. Robbins. She left at Easter to go have their first baby and baby Elijah arrived safe and sound at the end of May. Sam has enjoyed school this year, but is happy to be on holiday from now until August. He will be going to kindergarten in the fall.
Sydney and Mike participated in the swim for malaria in April. Sydney was very excited to use her swimming skills to raise money for bed nets, the best protection against malaria. She swam 16 laps and raised about $50 for the cause. We were very proud of her.
And just for fun, here's Sydney's new vintage 70's outfit. She received some hand-me-downs from her cousins and we think she looks quite stylish. Somehow, a cute six-year-old can pull of this look.
Well, that is it for now. But I'll work on some more news soon. Thanks for your patience and prayers.

  • Hi Tachenys! Well, rest assured all your efforts will be worth it-- we are still checking your blog! Thanks for the update and the pictures. It is fun to see Mike and the kids-- we just miss one of you.
Hope the camera can be salvaged. Let us know if we can help with that. Many blessings on you guys and your work and play there.
    Love,
    Wendy for the Simons
